need help with rangers
I personally think rangers sound really, really cool but in every other RPG I have been a warrior because i always got out of the action when an enemy is right up next 2 u and a ranger is it with arrows. rangers are supposed to be far away and shoot and it looks realy lame when they r creatures at point blank. plz inform me if this happens in guild wars. thanx

rangers have the longest distance attacks in the game
if an enemy is right next to them the ranger didnt kill him fast enough i will be trying out a ranger/monk build this weekend also maybe a ranger/necro for the fun as well Last edited by Loviatar; Mar 14, 2005 at 10:44 PM // 22:44.. |

Well, I think a Ranger/Mesmer or vice versa sounds cool. So yeah. Rangers are starting to catch my attention too.
But, could you guys please read and reply to my thread?! Its a poll. its my second Character poll since I've been here., And I have added ranger to the mix. It would be good because Subzero and I could get info on rangers and other character builds. Thanks, |

The ranger is personally my favorite class. They have one of the best armor sets in the game, great damage output, some great defensive skills to save you if you're being attacked.
For example if a warrior is running towards you, just hit him with pin down which slows him way down, then just kite him around the arena hitting him with attacks from a distance. I personally love to just shut down a warrior with my ran/nec build. I pin him down, then drop enfeebling blood on him which slows his attack rate. Then I just stand away from the distance and plunk him while the other melee take him out up close. He's attacking a lot less and can't run. You got a caster problem, just silence him with concussion shot. You got a lot of enemies heading your way, barrage is your friend. If you get in trouble, just drop one of your defensive skills on and you're almost untouchable. |

Creatures do occasionally get to the ranger (or any long distance caster) in the game. It's like that in any game. Either you didn't do a good job avoiding the creature, or your team didn't do a good job keeping it off of you.
Unlike most caster builds though, the ranger will have a better chance of surviving if this happens. Good armor, defense and skills, you should be able to shake that pest in no time. Depending on what you pick for your secondary, your skills, and how experienced you are, the enemy will fear your ranger quickly. Of course, you'll learn to fear other builds in return. All part of the game
